Supplemental Courses: The Best of Both WorldsTake a course or two at Lydian.Pick any course, enroll anytime. It's like summer school with "anytime start dates".The Lydian Academy Supplemental Programs provides additional ways for students to earn high school credits while remaining enrolled in their resident high school. Some students enroll to accelerate, taking AP courses not offered at their school. Others come to repeat failing grades and get back on the college track. Students with IEP's and 504's receive individualized instruction tailored to their learning needs. Students with credit deficiences can earn credits from Lydian that count towards graduation at their high schools.
How it WorksStudents are scheduled for standing afterschool appointments with an instructor who is a subject expert. Students meet with their teacher for direct instruction lessons in which course content is explained and discussed. Students are assigned work to do on their own to reinforce concepts taught in the sessions. Lydian courses are based on state standards and consist of the same assignments, exercises, and assessments found in the curriculum of a comprehensive high school. Students move through the curriculum at their pace and complete a course when they have finished all the assignments at the required proficiency levels (usually 90% or higher). |
