Curriculum and InstructionHow We TeachStudents enrolled in our high school credit program receive a quality education with an emphasis on success. The Lydian No Child Allowed To Fail grading policy is based on student outcomes. With one-to-one or small group teaching we make sure your student demonstrates competency at every level before moving on. Your student is sure to be well-prepared and earn the high marks that come with subject mastery. What We TeachThe one thing Lydian students have in common is that they all want something a little different for all or part of their education. Some want more challenge, others need a more leisurely pace to really understand the more difficult concepts. Finding one curriculum that fits everyone is a challenge. That's why at Lydian we have adopted curricula from various sources to meet the needs of every student. Lydian offers:

AP and HonorsLydian's AP Chinese Language and Culture course is currently under review by the Collegeboard's AP Audit team. AP Chemistry has been approved by the College Board, allowing Lydian Academy to use the AP trademarked designation on our transcripts for Chemistry. Currently under review for the 2008-09 school year are: AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Physics B, AP Physics C: Mechanics, AP US Government and Politics, and AP US History. College prep curriculumFor students preparing for a four-year college after high school Lydian offers UC-approved courses that count towards college eligibility. General EducationLydian also offers basic high school courses for students who plan to attend a community college or join the work force directly after high school. Modified ProgramLydian follows professionally acceptable guidelines for modifying course content to meet the needs of students with learning disabilities. |
